Bypass YouTube's "Video is not Available in your Country"

If you are outside the US you probably stumbled across the  "Unfortunately this video is not available in your country" - error message.

Solution:   

use a web proxy to access YouTube.

My favorite method is the following.

Just add "ss" inf front of youtube.com/… 

Example: 

Change http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Bmhjf0rKe8 to

http://www.ssyoutube.com/watch?v=0Bmhjf0rKe8

Then click on the little video preview thumbnail to play (or download it.)

Other good proxy sites (simply copy and paste the video url into the proxy)

• xs2web.org - has a better player than hidemyass
• hidemyass.com - solid option, but doesn't let you skip inside the video
• proxy.org - if all other options fail
• unblockyoutube.us

Of course you can also use browser add ons like ProxyTube (Chrome / Firefox)
