3 Methods To Recover Lost Digital Camera And USB Drive Via Photos


How to recover your lost digital camera and USB flash drive? What are the chances of your getting back your lost digital camera or thumb drive? It depends on the finder and your own effort. By using the following 3 methods, you have a 50% chances of regaining back your missing devices, the other 50% depends on the finder.

Add Or Modify The autorun.inf


This method will only work provided that the finder did not disable the autorun feature in Windows. You’ll have to create an autorun.inf file is there isn’t one in your thumb drive, if the file exist, add the following lines into your flash drive:
[Autorun]
Open=StartPortableApps.exe
Action=Start PortableApps.com
Icon=PortableApps\PortableApps.com\App\Graphics\usb.ico
Label=Call (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Lost Digital Camera Photos

For digital cameras such as Sony, Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Fuji and many more, store images of you holding a ‘missing note’ in the SD or CF memory card. Remember to include your email, address, and contact number. Do remember to store an image promising a reward for the finder.

Label Your USB Thumb Drive

Nothing beats a physical label, it is easier to spot and harder to ignore. Remember to use waterproof paper and print the label using a laser printer. Ink from inkjet printer tend to smudge or smear.
