Increase Windows 7 Performance – How To Rebuild The Search Index

If your Windows 7 system has become sluggish and defragging does not help, this could be a slow performing index. To solve this slow performance and to speed up Windows 7, you will have to rebuild the search index to restore performance to its previous level.

1. Go to the ‘Start button’, then type ‘Indexing Options’
2. Select the ‘Indexing Options’ link

3. The Indexing Options window will appear, select ‘Advanced’
4. The Advanced option window will appear, click on ‘Rebuild’

    Click OK when the confirmation box appears.
